MONSANTO’S $125 MILLION DEAL TO FLOOD THE MARKET WITH GENE-EDITED FOODS

According to Monsanto’s press release, the company (recently bought by Bayer) is investing $125 million in gene editing technology with Pairwise Plants, a California agricultural startup that aims to develop gene edited corn, soybeans, cotton, canola crops, wheat, and potentially “strawberries or some other fruit.”

My co-founders and I believe the technologies we have each been developing can have a profound impact in plant agriculture and will speed innovation that is badly needed to feed a growing population amid challenging conditions created by a changing climate.” – Pairwise founder J. Keith Joung

Developing foods that will “last longer” on store shelves is said to be the primary goal of this partnership.

People who are increasingly consuming more fresher fruits and vegetables would likely eat even more if they could get items that meet some or all of these criteria — benefiting retailers through increased sales. And with about 40% of the food produced every year in the U.S. thrown away, totaling an estimated $200 billion, CRISPR could potentially cut down on waste — an area of focus for socially minded consumers, manufacturers and supermarkets.” – Food Dive

Because they will be using gene editing technology, under the new GMO labeling guidelines, the products will not need to be labeled.

Specifically, we are deeply disappointed that the final rule does not clearly require the disclosure of all genetically engineered ingredients, including highly refined sugars and oils, and new GMO techniques like CRISPR and RNAi.” – GMO Labeling Explained – What You Need to Know About These Confounding, Loophole-Laden Rules

With traditional GMOs, a gene is inserted from another organism. Gene-editing is different because it finds a gene and then makes changes by amending or deleting the gene.

Already one Columbia University study has shown that this type of gene editing can create “hundreds of unintended mutations” within the target organism. It’s not known whether this extends to gene edited foods, but now the question is, “Do you want to be the guinea pig?” – March Against Monsanto

  1. Growing canola for OIL is a massive waste of money.
    1. you clear the land
    2. you prepare the land for planting
    3. you fertilizer soil
    4. you spray weed control
    5. you spray pest control
    6. you plant
    7. you spray several times more
    8. you harvest canola seed crop
    9. you process canola seeds
    10. you bottle
    11. do not forget the trucks & other planting & harvesting equipment -planes to spray.
A tiny little seed that produces a substandard oil.

    ALTERNATIVE
From seed, an olive tree takes 7 years to fruit & then it will bear fruit for one thousand years with little or no maintenance
A olive tree will bear olives of many different varieties for the table & oil
    HIGH QUALITY NUTRITIOUS OIL.

The IDEA to grow CANOLA SEED for OIL was thought up by a retarded mind.

  2. a) $125 MILLION is CHICKEN FEED
    b) BAYER are now the owners of the former company called MONSANTO & therefore they also own the BRAND NAME
    c) There are several lawsuits & other claims of negligent practices in pursuit of MONSANTO for justice & compensation.

I’m not sure – but I think that if BAYER use the BRAND NAME MONSANTO there are legal avenues through which they can be pursued for MONSANTO’S former crimes & indiscretions.

BAYER MAY NOT HAVE A CLEVER LEGAL TEAM REPRESENTING THEM
Ever Thus …. like government … they are loathed to spend monies on infrastructure & security.
Believing that they are too big to be caught.

  3. Whilst our mercurial Government is trying to inject our children with poisons they are also advocating genetically modified food. From all this one could not be excused from thinking that our government hates us and is committing genocide.
Do not concern yourselves about the poisons being dropped from the sky {Chemtrails} nor the government promoted poisons in our water and the very relaxed attitude to what is in our food promoted by these sad Corporations driven by profit.
Yes, our Government is about what is called Eugenics the reduction of the worlds population which is a primary agenda of the United Nations and as Aus is part of that criminal non voted organisation it seems that they do actually hate us.

Governments will use whatever technology is available to combat their primary enemy and that is their own population. Noam Chomsky
