More than one in five Irish voters are aware they are being replaced with immigrants, new poll shows
More than one fifth of Irish voters say that the native population is being replaced by non-White immigrants, and the vast majority think the government has lost control of immigration, a new poll has shown.
The Red C survey, conducted in Ireland on behalf of the Electoral Commission during the local and European elections in June, also found that large majority Irish voters want “very strict” limits on the number of migrants coming to live in the country.
22% of voters agreed with the statements “the establishment is replacing White Irish people with non-White immigrants” and “elected officials want more immigration to bring in obedient voters who will vote for them”, while 18% and 19% respectively said they were unsure.
31% believe there are “ongoing, hidden efforts to marginalise, control or destroy certain groups of people through the use of political policies”, and 59% agreed that the government “keeps many important secrets from the public”.
The poll found that 72% of Irish voters agree that “there should be very strict limits on the number of immigrants coming to live in Ireland”, 72% agree that “the government has lost control of immigration”, and 68% said ethnic minorities should adapt to Ireland’s way of life.
30% said asylum seekers should have the same rights to social services as Irish people, 27% said immigrants take jobs from the Irish, 52% said immigrants were good for the economy, and 54% said the “cultural diversity brought by immigrants enriches Irish society”.
The questions on ethnic replacement were framed by the pollsters as “conspiracy theories”, but Irish nationalists point out that the Great Replacement is an observable phenomenon in Ireland, with 20% of the population now born overseas, and overseas migration making up 83% of the population growth in 2022.
French author Renaud Camus, who coined the term, said in a 2022 interview with IM-1776: “The Great Replacement is not a theory at all, but just a sad fact, a ‘chrononym’, i.e. name for an epoch after its most important phenomenon, indeed replacism (or more exactly globalreplacism).”
Polling at the end of 2023 also found that most Americans also agree that the Great Replacement is real.
Rasmussen Reports found: “57% of likely US voters believe it is likely that some people are promoting mass immigration to the United States as part of a political agenda to replace the existing American population, including 36% who say it’s very likely.”
American journalist Tucker Carlson commented on ethnic replacement in an interview last month, noting that it was “obviously” taking place, and being driven by government policy.
“[The Irish] are the indigenous population of their island, and you’re watching them die and replacing them with people from the third world,” he said in an interview on the Dan Bongino Show on Rumble.
“Why would you want to watch the people whose ancestors built their country die, mock them as they die, and then replace them?”
In February a young mother gave an emotional speech revealing the heartbreaking effects on her daughter of living in an area that is now majority non-Irish.
The Dublin woman addressed a crowd in Claremorris, Mayo, and began by saying “you have not seen what is coming yet, and I have”.
“Where I live is about 85% foreign nationals. I can walk down the street on any given day, walk into the supermarket and I don’t hear an Irish conversation, I hear foreign people everywhere,” she said.
“My child is one of 30 children in her class and she’s the only Irish child. She came home crying from school a few weeks ago because she doesn’t understand what any of her friends are saying. The children revert back to their own languages when they’re not being taught.
She went on to say that her daughter has even been told not to dress up for Halloween, so as not to offend any of the non-Irish students.
“I don’t go for a walk around the park during the day with my child anymore. I have a big dog and I don’t go for a walk by myself anymore. I very rarely leave my house because where I live is so unsafe,” she continued.
“And that is the reality that you’re facing if you don’t make a stand. And I understand it’s really, really hard to be called names and all of these things, but you have to stand up on behalf of your children and future of the country.
“The landscape of this country is changing completely, and if you’re okay with that, fine. But I’m not okay with that. I’m not okay with that for my child. Please, please put your children first and your country first and just don’t care what anyone else thinks.”
